Employment Law

Module code: LW3003

If the managers of a business need to get work done, they need people to do it.  Many people working for a business are employees and laws have established rights which the business, managers and fellow employees or even clients and customers much respect.

This module examines the role law plays in regulating the relationship between a business and its employees.  You will learn about the impact on business decisions resulting from legal  interventions in the engagement, management and dismissal of individuals.  You will focus on the protection that the law provides against discrimination and unfair dismissal, including how this affects a dismissal for economic reasons (redundancy).
