Geographies of Health and Wellbeing

Health and wellbeing are shaped by the spaces and places in which we live, move, work and play. The module explores the ways in which geography, environment, and social determinants influence health and wellbeing, and how these factors are interconnected. The module will cover topics such as urban stress, digital health and caring. Students will explore and analyse real-world health issues and will apply various geographical and cross-disciplinary understandings and theories. This module aims to equipment students with the knowledge and critical skills to understand and contribute to ongoing efforts to improve global health and wellbeing outcomes.
