France has a lively and dynamic media landscape and in this module we will explore its key aspects and its place in French culture and society. We will consider different developments in media (including the press, audio-visual media and new media) over the last few decades, how they are consumed in France, and how they inform notions of representation and identity. This module will also introduce relevant concepts and approaches to better understand how the media has evolved over the years and what it reveals about French contemporary society.
