20th Century French Literature
Module code: FR1014
Literature of the 20th century has been filled with experimentation and innovation. Looking at a selection of key literary movements and texts in French, we will analyse their links with the broader cultural and political context in which they were born, nationally or internationally, and also learn core skills in analysing a variety of literary genres. Finally, we will study areas where literature touches upon other art forms, such as music, through the French chanson, and visual arts, in the graphic novel. This module will be adapted to advanced and beginners students of French.
