Fluid Instability, Transition and Turbulence

Module code: EG4115

When a liquid or gas flows through pipes or over a solid structure such as a car or aircraft wing the flow can become turbulent. This behaviour is very important when calculating the forces the flow causes, such as lift and drag, and the movement of heat between the fluid and the structure.

In this module you'll learn the mathematics to calculate and predict these effects, how this is used in the design of engineering components, and what the latest developments in this exciting field of fluid mechanics are.
