Compressible and Applied Aerodynamics
Module code: EG3411
This specialist Aerospace module will allow you to calculate aerodynamic forces in high-speed flows known as transonic and supersonic (close to, and above, the speed of sound). This is critical to the design of aerospace systems such as rocket nozzles and the wings of commercial airliners, which travel above Mach 0.8, over 80% of the speed of sound. As part of this module you'll learn how to design wings for high-speed flight, and be able to explain the practical challenges of real aircraft wings.
