EG1007 is the start of the journey to becoming a knowledgeable, skilled, independent professional Engineer. The world faces some immense challenges (climate change, energy demand, resource usage), which can only be tackled by Engineers who have the expertise and judgement to devise effective solutions, working in partnership with all sectors of society.

Within this module students develop abilities to form a concept idea and develop it through the Engineering Design Process. Students also learn the importance of Computer-aided Design (CAD) tools and how best to use them alongside practical manufacturing skills. Finally students embark on the professional development journey by building up employability skills and personal development by of reflecting on their own experiences.
