Materials Design and Development

This module aims to provide a clear overview of the theoretical, pedagogical, practical and commercial issues related to the development and evaluation of language learning materials. Whilst the focus is on materials for teaching English, the underlying design and development principles are relevant for languages other than English. The module also provides the knowledge and skills necessary for evaluating, adapting and producing materials in a particular socio-cultural context, and offers insights into commercial considerations, relevant to global coursebook design.
