Mental Disorder, Justice and Crime

On this module you will consider and explore the debate and issues surrounding the relationship between mental disorders and criminal behaviour. You will explore how the criminal justice system responds to offenders suffering from mental disorders, and how this influences how the crime is perceived, and the behaviours and punishments they receive. We will examine case studies to gain a better understanding of the challenges that mental health and criminal justice agencies face when handling, dealing with offenders with mental illnesses.
