Introduction to Forensic Psychology

In this module you will be introduced to the origins of Forensic Psychology as a discipline and you will examine some of the key historical developments that have shaped our understandings of Forensic Psychology. In doing so, you will learn about the key concepts and theories that underpin Forensic Psychology. You will also learn about the contemporary role of Forensic Psychologists, both within the criminal justice system and other settings. Throughout this first year module you will develop the key academic and transferable skills that relate to Forensic Psychology, including: reflective practice, academic writing within psychology, and ethical practice.
