Computing has made its way to the heart of many industries – one being the financial industry. Computer systems have transformed the way in which data is calculated, stored and tracked; cutting down significantly on the time, labour and money previously used to perform these functions. In this module you will learn how the financial and business world merge together and you will:

• Explain some of the fundamental concepts, terminology and processes of the business/financial domain
• Learn about the categories and functions of business and information systems and applications and solve simple problems. Outline the functional and architectural properties of these systems
• Explore the different roles and functions of IT professionals within organisations
