Introduction to Forensic Anthropology
Module code: CH7233
This module offers an overview of the history and development of forensic anthropology and a comprehensive introduction to human skeletal anatomy. These components are followed by the application of anatomical knowledge in establishing the biological profile of an individual (their identity) and the documentation of pathology, trauma and post-mortem alterations of the remains. There are two assessments for this module. The first assessment examines the ability of the student to apply their knowledge to the construction of a brief skeletal report. The second assessment is a critical review of one or more aspects of professional anthropological practice, such as the admissibility of anthropological methods in a court setting.
