While you'll often be looking at chemistry from an academic viewpoint during your degree, you can't escape from the real world applications of your science. In this module, you'll explore various areas of society where chemistry is vitally important.

You'll learn about the research that chemists do and consider the impact it has on everyday life in such areas as the environment, sustainability and materials, critiquing its role in a particular field. You'll also explore how science and chemistry are disseminated and represented in the media, and learn how to communicate scientific concepts to a range of audience types. Plus, you'll work in groups to examine and solve unseen chemical problems and scenarios.
