"These images are part of a work called The centre of the world. They are photos taken in Boncellino, a hamlet near Bagnacavallo, in the Ravenna Province, where my uncle spent much of his adolescence. Despite being a small village, it has remained for him one of the most significant places in his life. I realized that one day when I took him there. I had my camera with me and I took some pictures. Subsequently I went back several times on my own to take more. Looking at the place with my own eyes, in tribute to his memories. I borrowed the title from an episode of Edgae Reitz’s film Heimat, where a similar situation occurs."
