REF 2029 open access policy

Whilst we are awaiting the release of the updated HEFCE REF policy, the 2021 policy applies.

Requirement

From 1 April 2016, all journal articles and conference proceedings accepted for publication to be made open access.

Maximum embargo period

12 months for sciences, engineering and maths. 24 months for arts, humanities and social sciences.

How to do it

Deposit the author's final accepted manuscript through IRIS within 3 months of acceptance.
