Samples

The University of Leicester Cancer Research Biobank (LCRB) is currently focussing on projects that generate samples from consented patients attending outpatient clinics at the Leicester Royal Infirmary, Glenfield Hospital and Leicester General Hospital.

Samples held are from LCRB ethically approved breast and lung projects.

Current sample collections:

• Blood - buffy coats, packed red blood cells, plasma and also ascites

It is anticipated in the future as local biobanking capacity expands, that the Leicester Cancer Research Biobank will continue to collect whole bloods, as well as surplus tissue, biopsied tissue and urine.
