Russian

Russian FlagRussian is one of the most commonly spoken languages in the world, with more than 150 million native speakers and another 110 million or so who speak it as a secondary language, mostly in former Soviet Union republics such as Armenia, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Ukraine, and Georgia. It is an official language in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, and an important language in some countries, e.g. Israel and Mongolia. Russian is also an official language in UN and the International space station!

It is a useful language for students of history, international politics and literature as Russian is the language of some history’s greatest writers such as Pushkin, Tolstoy, Chekhov, Gogol, Nabokov and Dostoyevsky.
