Besides a solid background and a strong motivation it is useful to have spent some thoughts on the following before applying:
- your research topic
- your future supervisor
- your financial support
The topic you propose should fit within the research themes of the Department; it should lie within the research interests of your proposed supervisor or be chosen from the list of concrete PhD topics. It may help your application if you explain briefly why you are interested in your proposed area of research, and what in your background makes you well prepared for this topic.
You are most welcome to contact us, and we would encourage you to discuss your research plan with your potential supervisor before applying.
