BCSWomen

BCSWomen is a Specialist Group within the BCS (The Chartered Institute for IT) whose main objective is to provide support for female IT professionals, as well as mentoring and encouraging girls/ women to enter IT as a career.

There are 1,100 members in the UK and they offer countrywide events, information sharing, CV advice clinics and professional networking.

We encourage our female students to join this group. In the past, we have invited members of the group to talk to our students, as part of their studies. In 2014/15 Mary Clarkson, Chair of the Leicestershire branch of BCSWomen, gave a talk to all students taking the Requirements Engineering and Professional Practise module (CO1008).
