Bioinformatics and Health Data science group
The Bioinformatics Research Group ‘Brookeslab’ was established in 2004 when Professor Anthony J Brookes came over from Sweden’s Karolinska Institute. His team quickly established the web based database GWAS Central and gained much success with the international GEN2PHEN project. This led to the group playing a major roles in many large-scale European infrastructure projects, for example using our data discovery platform Cafe variome in Alzheimer's disease research and as part of rare disease collaborations.
The group has a wealth of experience and expertise within the themes of Data Discovery, Health Data Research, Human Disease Genetics, Machine Learning and Visualisation of Biological Data.
