Graduation

Graduation documents

Immediately after the ceremony, while you are still in De Montfort Hall, you will be given your graduation documents: your actual degree certificate and transcript. Look after them - there is a charge to replace them. If you do need to replace your documents, you can do so via the University shop.

If you are unable to attend your graduation ceremony, we will post your documents to you. You cannot send someone else to collect them.

Documents by post

We will send your documents to the address that you gave us when you completed the 'Certificates and Graduation' link within the Study tab of MyStudentRecord so make sure that is correct and up to date.

If you are subsequently not available at that address to receive your documents, we cannot issue another. You will need to wait until your postal service returns the documents to us, at which point we will arrange for it be be posted to your new address.

Documents are sent via Royal Mail Signed For (or Royal Mail International Signed For). Once they have been posted you will be emailed a tracking number which you can use to track your delivery online.

If you would prefer to have your documents sent via DHL, you can purchase this through the University shop.

Please note that we cannot send your documents to you if you have deferred your graduation or if you still owe part of your tuition fee.

Collection

You can collect your graduation documents from the University. You will need to email graduation@le.ac.uk to request this.

Graduation documents will only be made available after all graduation ceremonies have taken place.  You will be emailed confirming when your documents are available to collect.

Please remember to bring some photo ID with you so that we can verify your identity (such as your passport or driving licence).

Please note that you will only be able to collect your own documents. We cannot allow students to collect documents for their relatives or friends, nor can another person collect your documents on your behalf.

HEAR

On most undergraduate degrees you will also receive a HEAR (Higher Education Achievement Report) which provides a single comprehensive record of your achievement of your time at the University. This includes academic work, extra-curricular activities, prizes and employability awards, voluntary work and offices held in Student's Union clubs and societies that have been verified by the University of Leicester. This is a digital transcript - we will send you a link after your graduation ceremony.
