About the Partnership 合作关系

The Chongqing Medical University - University of Leicester Bachelor’s Programme of Clinical Medicine and Clinical Science was formally approved as a Joint Education Programme (JEP) in July 2020 with the approval of the China Ministry of Education. It is a strategic partnership between Chongqing Medical University (CQMU) in China and the University of Leicester (UoL) in the United Kingdom.

This distinctive JEP between CQMU and UoL will be the only approved Sino-foreign cooperative education project in clinical medicine in western China. 

Applications to this new programme opened in May 2020 and the first intake of students was in September 2020. 

Students are officially registered to CQMU and UoL simultaneously, and have full access to library, learning and other academic resources. Teaching and assessment of the Core modules will be carried out by teachers from both universities, including English Language Tuition in Year 1 provided by flying faculty from UoL’s Centre for International Training and Education (CITE).

Students are required to meet the degree granting standards of both universities and shall, upon graduation, be awarded a Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Medicine from CQMU and a Bachelor Degree in Clinical Sciences from UoL.

中国重庆医科大学与英国莱斯特大学合作举办的临床医学与临床科学专业本科学位课程是于2020年7月经中国教育部正式批准通过的中外合作办学项目（JEP）。该项目让中国重庆医科大学（CQMU）与英国莱斯特大学（UoL）共建战略合作伙伴关系。

中国重庆医科大学与英国莱斯特大学创办的独具特色的合作办学项目是中国西部地区唯一获中国教育部批准的临床医学领域中外合作办学项目。

该项目已于2020年5月接受申请，首批学生于2020年9月入学。

该项目学生同时注册中国重庆医科大学和英国莱斯特大学的双学籍，享用两校的图书馆资源和学习及其他学术资料。所有核心课程的教学与评估由两所大学的老师共同负责，其中第一学年的英语语言教学由莱斯特大学国际培训教育中心（简称CITE）外派老师授课。

学生须同时达到两所院校的学位授予标准方可顺利毕业。毕业时，成绩合格的学生将获得重庆医科大学授予的临床医学学士学位和莱斯特大学授予的临床科学学士学位。
