Global Megatrends – their impact on mobility and how we are responding

Abstract: A thought provoking presentation which will highlight some of the global megatrends that are impacting our personal mobility. The presenter will explore the automotive technologies that are emerging as a consequence and how the automotive community have responded to the new challenges. The presenter is a former Director of HORIBA MIRA and he will highlight how they have responded to the challenges the emerging technologies present and also how MIRA has transformed itself into an automotive centre of excellence over recent year through MIRA Technology Park.
Consideration will also be given to the skills requirements and how MIRA has approached that issue. As a former Chief Judge, the presenter will also highlight how the Institution of Mechanical Engineers have helped to produce some of the finest automotive engineers through its Formula Student initiative and specifically the newly created Formula Student AI competition.
