Course description
Coaching has grown rapidly as a profession in the last decade. This course outlines the psychological theory that underpins coaching techniques and how it can be applied.
You will undergo a transformative journey with our MSc in the Psychology of Coaching, where the convergence of psychological principles and coaching methodologies creates profound personal and professional growth. This program, designed by experts in coaching and psychology, combines the scientific rigor of traditional psychology with the artistry of coaching, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of human behaviour and the tools to realise positive change for clients.
You will explore advanced psychological theories, practice evidence-based coaching techniques, and develop the skills to empower individuals and organisations towards optimal performance. Our curriculum emphasises practical application, blending theory with practice, ensuring graduates are well-equipped to navigate the complexities of the evolving coaching landscape. All students will be required to complete 80 hours of coaching practice outside of the course. You will be offered some support in finding coaching clients where possible.
An optional two-day Course Conference is held annually at the University and online, consisting of workshops and study skills sessions. The Conference provides support for your studies and the opportunity to hear esteemed speakers, both academic and practitioner, from different areas within applied psychology. It is also an excellent opportunity to meet staff and fellow students. The dates for the 2024 conference are Friday 11th and Saturday 12th October.
