Social events and activities
The ELTU organises a number of free social activities and events for full-time students. In addition, students have access to the full range of events and leisure facilities offered by the University of Leicester. Please note that the range of activities available may vary depending on the time of year.
English CLUB
English CLUB is an opportunity for students to meet new people, practise their speaking, use new vocabulary, and make mistakes in a friendly atmosphere. Students from all presessional modules are invited, and staff also attend. English CLUB runs most Fridays from 2.00pm to 4.00pm during term-time.
Book Box
Book Box is an opportunity for students to borrow a range of different reading materials from our little library and to have a chat with other students and staff over a cup of tea and a biscuit. A great way to improve your speaking, grammar and vocabulary in a relaxed atmosphere. It takes place once a week throughout term time.
Attenborough Arts Centre
Attenborough Arts Centre is the University of Leicester's arts centre. It runs a year-round programme of events covering a wide range of art forms, including classical music, jazz, dance, comedy, theatre, live art, children's theatre, crafts, the written word and visual arts. There is also a café where you can relax and have a drink or a snack.
University of Leicester gym
Active students can purchase a membership and make the most of the University's sporting facilities located on campus and in the Oadby Student Village. Your membership will give you access to the gym 7 days a week as well as most bank holidays*. More information can be found from Sport and Active Life.

University of Leicester Students' Union
The University's Student's Union runs a programme of social events and is home to a large number of student clubs and societies.
