Arch-I-Scan

The Arch-I-Scan project is developing a state-of-the-art image-recognition and machine-learning service to automatically identify and record Roman pottery vessels and sherds. Arch-I-Scan is an interdisciplinary project, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, and led by Professor Penelope Allison (School of Archaeology and Ancient History) and Professor Ivan Tyukin (School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences).
