Parent and Public Advisory Group
Are you interested in the health and wellbeing of babies and young children in Leicester and Leicestershire? Can you help us improve our work into the health of babies and young children?
Our team is trying to find out how different factors in the early life of babies and children can affect their health, development and wellbeing. We are doing this through our research, and our aim is to improve the health of babies and children in Leicester. Our team is led by Elaine Boyle who is the LCFC Professor in Child Health.
We are looking for parents, members of the public and representatives from relevant organisations to join our Parent and Public Advisory Group (PPAG). We would love people from a range of backgrounds to join our group.
The PPAG meets with the research team a few times a year, usually online. We ask the group to give us ideas and feedback on our research plans, on information we give to parents in our studies and on how we let others know about our work. We might ask you to read a few things before a meeting. You do not need any special qualifications to join the PPAG. We will pay for your time.
LCFC Professor Elaine Boyle said: “We are proud to be working to improve the health, wellbeing and happiness of children in and around Leicester. We want our research to answer important questions that really matter to local people and families from all backgrounds and parts of the city. This is not an expert role – we want to hear from people with real world experience of children’s needs and knowledge of their communities.”
If you are would like to join our PPAG, please send your name, address, a bit about you and why you would like to join the group to Professor Elaine Boyle, via eb124@leicester.ac.uk
