A leading UK university
The University of Leicester is one of the UK's leading research and teaching universities with over 25 years' experience offering high quality distance learning courses.
We are a major learning provider of distance learning programmes, so we can combine high quality courses with a vast choice of subjects and consistent value for your money. Over 25,000 distance learning students have graduated from Leicester.
Our courses have been designed to be studied at a distance, giving you the flexibility to study from any location within a structured and supportive framework, allowing you to combine achieving a qualification with work or family commitments.
Accessible and supported study
Self-study is central to distance learning. However, support is always available from our distance learning administrative teams at the University.
The discussion boards on our virtual learning environment, Blackboard, are accessible from any location at any time during your study and will provide you with opportunities to network with your peers and connect with your tutors. Some of our courses also include residential visits and workshops, giving you the opportunity for face-to-face interaction. This will vary from course to course, so please see individual course pages for further information.
Top rated Students' Union
Our Students’ Union is here to support all students during their studies, offering education advice, representation and a chance to meet new people.
Distance learning students go through a unique learning experience, and the Union's Advice Service is here to help every step of the way offering free, impartial and confidential advice about your course. In addition, the Union has a dedicated Distance Learning Officer who makes sure that your views and needs are considered in Union affairs.
