Data Science

There is a shortage of qualified data scientists in the UK and abroad and our courses will place you in a strong position for a career in a broad range of sectors, depending on your interests. The courses are taught by staff who have international reputations as researchers and consultants to businesses and government agencies. Students will benefit from links the University has established, and continues to establish, with organizations with interests in data science and Artificial Intelligence though its membership of The Turing University Network.

We have a range of data science courses in a number of subject areas. Data science is a rapidly growing area of interest and is relevant to students wanting to develop/progress in the understanding of problem solving, data manipulation and communicating solutions with visual impact.

With the exception of MSc Population Health Data Science, these are ‘conversion’ courses, for which you do not need to have prior knowledge to be eligible to apply. The MSc Population Health Data Science is aimed at applicants who already have a strong quantitative background (e.g. Maths, Physics, Economics) so they can develop those skills further to support health research.
