The programmes outlined below have been superseded by our fully-funded Help to Grow: Management Course.

Small Business Leadership Programme

The Small Business Leadership Programme was delivered between November 2020 and May 2021 with nearly 200 organisations across the UK being supported by the University of Leicester School of Business.

The fully-funded 10-week programme facilitated SMEs to develop their potential for future growth and productivity and to support resilience and recovery from the impact of COVID-19.

The programme was delivered online through eight 90-minute webinars, peer-supported learning sessions and flexible, independent study.

Participants developed strategic leadership skills, built valuable networks and learnt from business experts about creating innovative and agile organisations, boosting performance and improving risk management and efficiency.

The programme was delivered by Small Business Charter-accredited business schools and supported by the UK Government.

Leading to Grow Programme

The Leading to Grow Programme was delivered between February and August 2020 and supported 43 small businesses in Leicestershire to grow, innovate and increase productivity through digital transformation.

The programme helped small business owners to explore digital and new technologies suited to their business goals and to develop the management capabilities required to implement these technologies.

Course delivery included a half-day in-person workshop, an impartial overview of new technologies, a peer-learning environment, advice from successful local business leaders and the opportunity to receive further one-to-one support.

Designed for business with 1-9 employees trading for 3+ years, the programme was delivered by Small Business Charter-accredited business schools and was fully-funded by the UK government and Innovate UK.
