Profile

Vinay is the Regional Space Innovation Manager for the Research & Enterprise Division and the Mechanics of Materials Laboratory and Advanced Microscopy Centre Manager in the School of Engineering. Vinay obtained his bachelor’s degree in Forensic Engineering in 2010 at Sheffield Hallam University. He started working at the Materials Engineering Research Institute in 2007 for 7 years as a Senior Analytical Officer supporting various Advanced Analytical equipment and engaging in various consultancy activities.

In 2014 he joined the University of Leicester’s School of Engineering. Since 2007 Vinay has worked on over 300 consultancy jobs for a wide range of industrial partners saving or generating millions of pounds for those companies.

Vinay is also a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Scientist and an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of the Institute of Materials Minerals and Mining.

Research

Exploiting the research capabilities and assets within the partner universities to facilitate and secure research development and innovation collaborations with businesses in the Space and Space Enabled sectors using upstream and downstream Space technologies and services.

Working with internal and external researchers and partners to engage with businesses in the Space & Space Enabled sectors to nurture and broker funded collaborations using the mechanisms provided by the SPRINT programme (www.sprint.ac.uk) and other identified sources for collaborative funding (UK Space Agency European Space Agency UK Research and Innovation - UKRI etc…).

SPRINT ( Space Research & Innovation Network for Technology ) is a national innovation programme exploiting the strength of UK Universities to drive business growth in the Space and Space Enabled economy.
