Initially started a career in paediatrics but the changed to psychiatry to pursue a career in child psychiatry.
MRCPsych in 2001 and was a Clinical Lecturer from 2001-2006
Senior Clinical Academic, University of Leicester from 2006 to present.
Worked in Child Mental Health Research at the Greenwood Institute until 2019
Then move to the School of Medicine in my present role as Associate Professor in medical education.
As a Clinical Academic I am also a Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in the NHS specialising in neurodevelopmental disorders such as ASD and ADHD. 
Within Leicester Medical school, I work within the Academic Support Unit, helping medical students optimise their learning, and also on the Masters in Clinical Education
With others we are looking at ways of sustaining student well-being throughout the course. 
I have a specific interest in medical students who have Specific Learning difficulties.
