Profile

Jessica Ritchie is a Lecturer in Criminology and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Her prior appointment was as a Research Associate with the School on the Global Justice and Forensic Science project. She has held previous academic positions within the UK and Australia. Before academia she worked in crime prevention practice. She has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice from Griffith University Australia. She has a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Queensland University of Technology and is an admitted lawyer to the Supreme Court of Queensland Australia. In addition she has a Master of Criminology and Criminal Justice with first-class honours from Griffith University. She is currently completing her PhD thesis with the T.C. Beirne School of Law at the University of Queensland. Her doctoral thesis explores the exchange of DNA data across jurisdictional borders in Australia and internationally for cross-border criminal investigations. She supervises the University of Leicester Pro Bono Miscarriages of Justice Project.
