University of Leicester accepting Chinese Gaokao scores

University of Leicester opens door to more Chinese students.

The University of Leicester is now accepting Gaokao scores for 2019 entry to our first-year undergraduate courses (except Medicine) for students from Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong Province.

The Gaokao exams are taken in June, similar to the British higher education exams, and sees students tested in Chinese, Maths, and a foreign language – usually English. Nearly 10 million Chinese students take the Gaokao every year

Leicester will consider high quality students achieving a minimum of 80% across all subject areas and who meet additional academic and English language requirements.

Students can register an interest by contacting admissions@le.ac.uk, and applications will need to be made directly to the Admissions Team.

Although the acceptance of Gaokao scores is currently limited to Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong Province, we do hope that this can be extended to further regions of China in the future, following the successful launch of Gaokao acceptance in these areas.

If you have any further questions about the University of Leicester’s acceptance of Gaokao scores, please contact admissions@le.ac.uk.
