A birds eye view

A PhD student at our University has taken his passion for photography to new heights with awe-inspiring pictures of our city’s landmarks.

Rafael Ktistakis, who is studying for a PhD in computer science, has captured a number of snapshots from locations around the city through the use of a drone- including an aerial view of our campus, the Arch of Remembrance in Victoria Park and Leicester Cathedral.

Rafael said: “I have been doing photography since 2012 but my passion grew when I moved to Leicester in 2013.

“I always carry a camera on me and most of the times it is an analog film camera, a Rollei 35 or even a Polaroid SX-70. For digital, I mainly shoot with a Canon EOS 5D MKII. My favourite lens is a Canon EF 16-35 mm F/2.8L.”
