Leicester academic to publish translated book looking at the development of medicines
A book, translated by an academic from the University’s Department of Cancer Studies, which looks into the process of drug development will be published in July 2017.
Professor Andreas Gescher (pictured), Emeritus Professor of Biochemical Toxicology, translated How Medicines Are Born: The Imperfect Science of Drugs, by Lisa Vozza and Maurizio D’Incalci from Italian to English.
How Medicines Are Born is written for a lay audience and designed to help patients, students, public health officials physicians, healthcare practitioners and biomedical scientists make informed decisions on the benefits and disadvantages of select medicine based on an understanding of the history of drug development.
The newly translated book will be published by World Scientific Press on 5 July 2017.
