Event invites visitors to have fun with fungus

Members of the public are being invited to visit the Botanic Garden in Oadby to find out more about fungi.

The Leicestershire Fungi Study Group is presenting a table display of specimens found in the Botanic Garden for the public to view.

Taking place in Knoll House from 10.30am-4pm on Sunday 9 October, the free public event will allow members of the public to sample the delights of the 16-acre garden as well learn more about fungi.

The event is being held as part of national fungus day which aims to introduce people to the wonders of the fungal kingdom and inspire interest in fungi and fungal science.

The plant collections and landscape features make the Botanic Garden one of the most diverse in the region. It is free and open to the public from 10am-4pm.
