Research Innovation expertise featured at major business innovation event

For the second year running, our University is a regional partner in Venturefest East Midlands – an event driven by Innovate UK and KTN (Knowledge Transfer Network) to boost innovation and drive business growth across the region and nationally.

Driving growth through discovery led research and innovation is central part of the University’s Strategic Plan. President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Paul Boyle will set out how the University, as a key partner is delivering business innovation at the Preview Dinner opening address the evening before.

As part of the programme on the 16 March, the University is delivering a number of workshops and seminars.

The University of Leicester in the Expo Hall at stand K14 will be giving live demonstrations of the University’s air quality monitoring technologies and showcasing a number of our biomedical technologies and research such as the health benefits of turmeric, and non-invasive diagnostics from analysing patient’s breath.  Members of the Research and Enterprise Division will be available for one-to-one meetings to explain how the University works with businesses to drive innovation, develop technologies and new business opportunities and enable effective collaborations.

The University has worked with Venturefest East Midlands to deliver the Next Generation Competition, winners of which will receive funding to develop their business idea and 'money can't buy' support from marketing and events agency Holland Alexander.
