Creative thinkers sought for event to tackle global problems

Bright and innovative thinkers are being invited to our University for the first UK event outside of London known as Solve for X.

Solve for X is a global community initiated by Google that aims to bring about brilliant scientific innovations and technological breakthroughs that have the potential to solve big global problems facing humanity.

Breakthrough projects are known as ‘Moonshots’ and represent a potential solution to a complex problem that is enabled by science or technology

Our University is hosting the Leicester X Moonshot Sprint event. Thinking about creative solutions to the world’s major challenges is at the heart of our mission as an institution, and this event provides the perfect opportunity to do so.

At the event, everyone will be able to contribute as members of small teams. Each team will choose and concentrate on one aspect of the problem and attempt to solve it through the team's diverse creativity and experiences. They will pitch their idea to the mentors and get feedback. Depending on the feedback, they may choose to move their idea forward or to refocus on a different solution.

Solve for X Moonshot Sprint takes place on Saturday 12 December at the University of Leicester. Applications to participate via http://moonshotleicester.com/
