International certification for Intelligence and Security course
The Distance Learning MA in Intelligence and Security at the University has received certification from the International Association for Intelligence Education (IAFIE), an international organisation dedicated to expanding research, knowledge and professional development in intelligence education.
The course is the first in Britain to receive IAFIE certification, and only the second worldwide. IAFIE requires programs to meet strong educational standards in order to receive certification.
The course, which is taught over two years by distance learning, equips students with an understanding of key concepts and debates in relation to intelligence and security and the current state of knowledge in the field.
It combines world leading research by members of the Department of Politics and International Relations, and their experience in the field of intelligence and gives students the opportunity to conduct advanced study on intelligence theory and practice.
The course can enhance the employability of those seeking to work in intelligence with the government, military, police, private security sector, the UN or other international organisations.
