Report shows top employers target Leicester graduates
A major new report on the graduate job market has revealed that Leicester is ranked as the 25th most targeted university by Times 100 Graduate Employers, who in turn offer some the UK’s highest paid, and most sought after, graduate roles.
Revealed by ‘The Graduate Market in 2015’, a study of employers’ graduate vacancies and recruitment practices carried out by High Fliers Research in December 2014, the report also predicts the number of graduate vacancies will be at their highest level for more than a decade.
As a target university it means Leicester students benefit from more opportunities to meet face-to-face with top employers. And not just to learn more about these employers’ roles, but to gain a valuable insight into what will help them stand out during the recruitment process.
Bob Athwal (pictured), Director of Student Experience, said: “This is an incredible achievement. We have been working hard to attract world class employers to our campus and discover the wealth of talent we know we have at Leicester. The fact we’re being targeted by more employers is not only a reflection of this, but the result of innovative approaches we have taken to help our students get better ready for the world of work. The support and emphasis we put on students’ preparation for example, is something you’ll only find at Leicester.”
