Over the course of this module, we’ll explore how your key skills in literary studies can be used across a range of potential careers, from marketing to psychology, and from advocacy to archives. By the end of the module, the aim is that you’ll be able to offer a snappy answer to the question we all get: ‘But what can you really do with an English degree?’.

To generate your snappy answers, you’ll reflect on your skills, strengths, and motivations, and explore how literature allows us to reflect on contemporary issues and potential employment. We’ll use three main texts as our entry points.

The module will also include talks and advice from experts who use their English degrees in their careers in social media, law and advocacy, psychology, events, archives, and more.
