The Novel Around the World

Module code: EN1020 (double module)

The Novel around the World introduces you to the study of narrative fiction in a global context. It also serves as an introduction to the study of English at university level, and to the skills needed to become a successful BA student.

In this module, we'll read novels written between the nineteenth century and the present day, discovering the range and vibrancy of the novel as a global form.

Alongside studying novels as examples of a literary genre, you will be guided in how to work independently, how to undertake research, and how to make skilled use of digital resources to investigate and debate issues.
