You will critically engage with capital budgeting techniques, investment appraisal and value creation frameworks, applying them to complex corporate scenarios. The module places particular emphasis on strategic investment decisions, including mergers and acquisitions, enabling you to evaluate risk, return, and strategic fit using established financial principles. Through critical examinations of risk-return models, you will assess both your analytical power and your underlying assumptions, fostering informed and reflective financial judgement.
Building on this foundation, the module explores capital structure and dividend policy decisions, examining their implications for firm value, financial flexibility, and stakeholder interests. You will evaluate a broad range of financing sources within short- and long-term financial planning, considering cost, risk and strategic constraints. The international dimension of corporate finance is embedded throughout, with critical analysis of governance, regulatory environments, and global financial risk.
