Cost accounting is used to prepare data about the key issues of every organisation - costs, revenue, price, and profit - for the needs of managerial decision-making. This module will give you an insight into the fundamentals and concepts behind a significant area of accounting.
You will look at how accounting information can be used to influence planning, decision-making and control within a business. You will look at various costing techniques and how to account for labour, materials and overheads and calculating different margins including make or buy decisions. You will also look at decision making, planning, budgeting, forecasting and planning for future scenarios.
