In this module you will explore the issue of leveraging data to inform strategic and operational decisions.  You will examine how organisations collect, interpret and apply large datasets.  The role of analytics in competitive advantage is emphasised and evidence-based management is central to analysis.

You will study the theories and concepts associated with data visualisation, predictive analytics, and decision science.  You will explore quantitative tools used in business intelligence and discuss ethical and governance considerations in data.  Analytical frameworks are applied the case studies in the module.

You will interpret complex data and generate actionable insight, and develop critical thinking skills in evaluating data quality and reliability.  Practical exercises in the module strengthen analytical ability and strategic interpretation of metrics is emphasised.

In the module you will consider the risks and responsibilities associated with big data usage.  You will examine privacy, bias, and algorithmic accountability and explore digital transformation and organisational change.  By the end of the module you will understand data as a strategic resource.
