General Principles of International Law

This module is intended as an advanced refresher for those who have taken undergraduate international law and as a generalist introduction to those who have not studied international law before. It introduces you to fundamental concepts and theories of Public International Law in order to provide an understanding of the building blocks of international law and the foundations for specialised international law options. Among the topics studied are the nature of Public International Law, its sources, subjects of international law, questions of jurisdiction and immunities, an overview of the law on the use of force, state responsibility and the role of international organisations and tribunals.
