Interpreting is a highly skilled profession, carried out in real-time, with no pauses available to research a subject matter or check concepts and works you are interpreting. In this module, you will learn various types of interpreting, including consecutive and simultaneous interpreting, using appropriate techniques. We will reflect on these techniques critically and engage with the existing scholarship of the discipline to broaden our knowledge on the study of interpretation. This module will be taught in a combination of seminars and practical workshops. You will have plenty of opportunities to practice interpreting in the interpreting lab.
