Advanced Applied Psychology

This module is designed to explore how research is conducted by psychologists in the ‘real-world’, using both quantitative and qualitative research methods and statistical techniques. This includes univariate, bivariate, and multivariate statistical methods and factors analysis. You will learn how your ‘academic’ research training can be used to conduct high quality research in applied psychology settings, whilst gaining an understanding of the practical constraints placed on psychologists conducting research in the real world. Teaching will use a mix of hands-on learning of statistical techniques using data from applied research and small group teaching about the process of conducting research in applied settings.

  • Analysing qualitative data and quantitative statistics -how these methods could be used to together to evaluate an intervention
