In effect, International Relations is the study of relationships. It looks at the link between political entities, and the systems, alliances, conflicts and diplomacy that comes out of it. This module will introduce you to the key concepts behind the study and practice of international relations.

By the end of the module, you'll recognise the major themes and concepts in IR. You'll challenge ‘common sense’ understandings and key assumptions of major issues in international politics and relations. Plus, you'll be able to take a reflexive approach to the study of core themes and concepts in IR.
